It was really fun and challenging, lots of practice with sentence patterns and new vocabulary, so I can study all that for homework with my friends. Then we talked about a show called 爸爸去哪儿（dad, where are we going?） it’s great go, watch it between taking lessons with (☞ﾟ∀ﾟ)☞Carine☜(ﾟ∀ﾟ☜)

This time we did a whole lot of listening and speaking exercises! At first I was actually really sleepy, but because she made the lesson really fun and enjoyable I was like wide awake like 哇，我加油 ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ and I feel like it’s easier to slow down and actually pay attention to the tones I’m using and when/how they change like when there’s a couple 3rd tones in a row. And it’s cool too how she assigns me homework to focus on something when I study on my own 10/10 這個課太棒了(•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑

I had my first real lesson this time! I took Carine’s “Beginner to Intermediate – Vocab, Sentence, Grammar, Oral and listening” class. Since she had already planned out how the lesson will go (she’s like really good at being organized 😀 ) we first went over lots of vocabulary from her textbook and kind of drilled/quizzed me on them quickly, and then with these vocabs in hand we went right to the dialogue part. It looked short and easy but I still tripped up on a certain phrase really often, but she was really good at correcting me and being patient. Then we did the activities part where basically I got to make up my own sentences with these words and get my tones right too. Then at the end she let me just have a conversation about whatever or ask questions or comments about whatever. All in all it went really well, I learned quite a bit. Can’t wait for the next one ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ謝謝

I did a trial lesson with Carine, and boy was she really knowledgeable, she’s great! We went over the survey she told me to fill out before the session and discussed about where my level of Mandarin is since it has been so many years since I actually really studied it. Then she went over her giant wonderful library of resources we could use including books from Mainland China, Singapore, and even Taiwan; some for beginners, others for advanced, and cultural ones as well. So she can help with both Traditional and Simplified 😀 And then she came up with a plan for me on what I should improve on and how often I should take her class. I feel like what I need are nicely planned and structured lessons so I am definitely choosing her as my lăoshī. Expect more reviews from me in the near future. People, try her trial lesson, let’s do this :D!!
